Modular EVSE Controller Platform

Your charger needs a controller that fits.

Shorten your time to market with a custom-off-the-shelf charge controller. Build on a proven reference system and adapt it to your product. Together with Pionix and Solectrix, AST-X helps EV charger manufacturers develop a custom charge controller with a defined path from evaluation to series production.

Start with proven building blocks.

Our custom off the shelf approach combines validated hardware and software with the adaptations your charger needs. Three complementary building blocks form the technical foundation.

Pionix ChargeBridge

Handles low-level charger control, real-time functions and the physical hardware interface.

Linux Compute Module

Runs high-level applications and provides the computing platform for system integration and software updates.

LF Energy EVerest

Provides the open source charging stack, connecting charging functionality with your application and backend.

A proven foundation for your own controller

Less redevelopment

Reuse the reference design and charging stack.

Your product fit

Adapt form factor, interfaces and connectivity.

A defined route to series

Evaluate first, then develop against agreed milestones.

Hardware development and industrialization by AST-X

We turn your requirements into controller hardware that fits your charger and is ready for manufacturing.

  • Hardware and integration
Requirements definition, controller adaptation, schematic and PCB design, interfaces, connectors and mechanical integration.
  • Prototypes and validation
Prototype builds, hardware bring-up together with Solectrix, pre-compliance testing, qualification and design refinement.
  • Industrialization and lifecycle
Production hardware, manufacturing test concepts and preparation for series production. Together with our manufacturing partner ASSDEV, we support prototype and series manufacturing, followed by product maintenance, lifecycle and obsolescence management.

Proven building blocks. Product-specific engineering.

Reference foundation

ChargeBridge, the controller reference design and LF Energy EVerest provide the starting point for your project.

Your controller

Form factor, interfaces, connectivity and system integration follow your requirements. We validate the adapted system.

Three specialists. One engineering team.

EV charging expertise, ChargeBridge, the controller reference system and LF Energy EVerest, complemented by cloud services for software updates and security maintenance.

Visit Pionix

A defined path from evaluation to series

1. Explore

Before project start

Evaluate EVerest on development kits and assess feasibility.

2. Define

2 weeks

Agree requirements, integration scope and lifecycle strategy.

3. Prototype

8 weeks

Adapt hardware, bring up Linux and integrate EVerest.

4. Integrate + Test

8 weeks

Integrate in your charger and validate the system.

5. Industrialize

10 weeks

Prepare production hardware, tests and production release.

6. Production + Lifecycle

Ongoing

Series manufacturing and agreed lifecycle services.

Functional prototype after 10 weeks on the standard reference-based path. Production release target: week 28. Additional iteration loops extend the schedule. Final scope and timing are agreed per project.

Clear scope for delivery and lifecycle support

Reference and engineering

Customer-specific hardware, Linux BSP and system integration form the agreed project scope.

Deployment and maintenance

The OEM owns final images and field operation. Hardware and software lifecycle support is available on request.
